My favorite thing about Nest is the neighborhood. When our realtor,
Juli Harrison, showed us houses four years ago, I had 2 requests: a redo, and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Four years later, the home has been redone, thanks to (now, Nest resident Interior Designer)
Beth Dotolo & a few things I picked up at my favorite neighborhood store. I can also walk to nearly any Park Cities restaurant–which is exactly what we did Sunday morning. My husband and I are in the same town at the same time–cause to celebrate. This weekend, however, the celebrating was happily low key. We took the morning to walk to
Toulouse for brunch.
My favorite childhood movie was on TV, so naturally, all plans to work were halted for a trip down memory lane with Hailey Mills in The Parent Trap.
Next, a phone call came in from our next-door neighbors. "We're lighting up the fire pit..."
Wine in tote, we made the trek across the property line for a couple of hours with Bill and Brenda and two of their six kids, Elizabeth and Bradley.
We couldn't he planned for better neighbors. This is what makes houses into homes.
Finally, the night ended with pecan-crusted trout at another neighborhood favorite: Blue Plate. Friends, Jean and Erik made the 1/2 mile journey to meet us. Again it was a warm feeling. Our neighbors, all making life a little sweeter. It really was a perfect case for "the bubble life."
This morning, I stopped by the Nest before coming to the studio. Donald had arranged the new Jonathan Adler product to be ready for his appearance next week. If you're in the neighborhood on December 3rd. Stop by to welcome him!
Whether you're in the neighborhood or miles away, I hope you'll think of Nest as your neighborhood store. Thank you for 4 wonderful years of patronage both at Nest, and now at nestdallas.com. We look forward to seeing you again, and always want to hear from you, whether you're shopping or not. After all, we're neighbors.
