As you, dear reader, might have noticed by now: when I travel- I eat! Being fresh from a romp through New York for the Stationery Show, I decided the best way to show what kind of time we had, would be depicted showing you what we ate!
Acting as an amateur food critic, come on a tour of the bakeries of our most recent trip.
Grant, Jonthan, and Chris with their cupcakes du jour!

Magnolia is THE cupcake capital of NY. The lines are omnipresent, and the bakery is bustling late into the night (they are open until 11). Red Velvet Review: The cake was moist, the cream cheese icing was stacked high- just like I like it. The only disappointment: the top of the cake was a little too chewy.
Victoria & myself with the classics- chocolate, vanilla, and a glass of milk!

This is my friend
Victoria, and this is us in her favorite bakery, sugar Sweet sunshine. These cupcakes are cheap ($1.5o!), the staff is friendly, and the setting is quaint. Areas of improvement on the eats: icing is a bit remniscent of a grocery store.
This little bakery is growing on me in a big way (quite literally, too!). Stop in for a moment of pure bliss the Chelsea store, or go by on June 20th to the new location in Tribeca!
The Red Velvet Cake - yummy on the icing, dry on the cake

Heather's Cake: Vanilla with sprinkles. Now THIS was having your cake & eating it, too. Yum!
Simply delicious.

In the spirit of saving the best for last I am letting Heather post about
THE BEST CUPCAKES in NYC.
